"I went into Paper 1 having drilled every six-mark question format at least four times. When the tectonics question came up I genuinely felt calm. Ended up with a 7 — two grades above my mock."

"My daughter joined the Ten-Week Programme in January. The fortnightly reports meant I always knew exactly where she stood. She got her target grade and the whole thing cost less than two months of private tutoring."

"I blanked on coasts in my June A-Level. Three 1-to-1 sessions with Meridian and I had a framework for every coastal management question. Resit in January — got a B. Applying to Bristol in September."

The method

Every session moves the needle.

01

Specification mapping

Your tutor maps every AQA, Edexcel, or OCR spec point to your current knowledge — building a precise gap analysis in the first session.

02

Timed six-mark drills

Every session includes at least one timed response against the real mark scheme. You learn the command words, the structure, the mark allocation.

03

Full mock papers

Sit a complete paper under timed conditions. Receive annotated marking within 24–48 hours. Review the feedback live in your next session.

04

Exam-day certainty

By week ten, every question format is familiar. The tectonic question, the climate graph, the OS map extract — you have answered each one before.

Questions answered

Every question a student or parent types at 10pm.

Real questions. Straight answers. The comparison table lives inside the pricing question below.

Yes — and the data backs it up. Of the 312 students who joined Meridian in the final 14 weeks before their AQA Paper 1, 68% improved by at least two grade boundaries compared to their mock results. Fourteen weeks is not a narrow window; it is exactly the right amount of time to drill every specification point methodically and build the six-mark answer technique that separates 7s from 9s.

What matters now is not how much time you have left — it is how structured the next 14 weeks are. That is what Meridian is built to provide.

The Weekend Intensive is built for students who need to plug specific gaps fast — two full days of live teaching, one mock paper, and 48-hour marked feedback. It is ideal if you already have a revision routine and just need expert input on tectonic hazards or coasts.

The Ten-Week Programme is a complete specification journey — every topic, three full papers, and a cohort of six students so your tutor knows your name and your weaknesses by week two. Below is the full comparison:

Absolutely. The 1-to-1 Rescue Package was designed precisely for this situation. In your first session, your tutor will work through your June paper with you — identifying exactly where marks were lost and why. Coastal systems, littoral drift, cliff recession — we will map every gap against the specification and build a session plan around it.

A-Level resitters typically need three to five sessions to go from a blank on coasts to confident 20-mark essay answers. Many book a Weekend Intensive alongside their 1-to-1 sessions for the full paper practice component.

A-Level Resitter Pathway

Session 1: Paper review + gap analysis → Sessions 2–3: Targeted coastal systems → Session 4: Full essay practice → Session 5: Timed conditions + feedback

Ten-Week Programme and 1-to-1 Rescue students receive a fortnightly progress report emailed directly to the parent address provided at registration. Each report includes: topics covered, mock scores with grade boundary comparison, a specific action point for the coming fortnight, and a tutor note on attitude and engagement.

You also have access to the student portal where all session recordings, marked papers, and resource downloads are stored — so you can sit alongside your child and review the work together if that suits your household.

Revision guides tell you what to know. YouTube channels show you someone else understanding it. Meridian makes you demonstrate it — in timed conditions, with mark-scheme feedback, against the specific command words and assessment objectives your examiner will use.

The six-mark question is where most students lose the most marks, not because they lack knowledge, but because they do not know how to structure a geographical argument under pressure. Every Meridian session includes at least one timed six-mark drill with live feedback. After ten weeks, those questions feel familiar — not frightening.
